How long do I typically work with clients?
The amount of sessions or length of time that I work with clients varies and is often dependent on each individuals needs. For clients who are interested in Intuitive Eating coaching or PCOS support I typically see clients on a biweekly basis for 3-6 months. For individuals who are looking for eating disorder support this highly variable and dependent on: current struggles, co-occurring conditions, severity and duration of eating disorder. Typically eating disorder clients will choose to work together long term with less frequent visits when able to maintain a maintenance phase.
Do you see clients in person or virtually?
I currently only offer virtual sessions. This allows me to serve a clients all over the country, offer more appointment slots, makes appointments more convenient for you to fit into a busy schedule, and allows me to offer my services at a lower rate. If you are local to the Santa Barbara area and feel you would need in person support please reach out to me via email and we can discuss further.
What is your educational background and credentials?
I received a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science from Michigan State University (Go Green!), laying the foundation for my future in dietetics. Building on this knowledge, I pursued a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in dietetics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This advanced education not only deepened my understanding of nutrition but also broadened my perspective on the critical role dietitians play in public health. I then completed a dietetic internship where I completed over 1400 hours of clinical care and passed my credentialing exam which officially gave me my credentials of McKenzie Lane, MPH, RD.
